Being at school has always been something I have loved to do.  I have wonderful memories of my teachers, principals, and friends from Washington School where I attended elementary school in my home town of Murphysboro, Illinois.  I find the energy, that surrounds students and schools, to be infectious and that is one of the things that led me to teaching as a career.  I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to join the Resurrection faculty in the fall of 2011 after working for the Polk County School Board at Inwood Elementary School in Winter Haven.  This year, I will complete my 15th year in the classroom teaching.  My area of certification is Elementary Education (1-6) and I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade.   I am a proud Saluki from Southern Illinois University –Carbondale, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with a specialization in Athletic Training (1989) and bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (1997).  My husband, Preston, and I have three grown children who are spread across the United States working or completing their education.  I enjoy exploring the outdoors and traveling to be with my family.
