In January 1996, a team from Resurrection visited St. Joseph Catholic School in Palm Bay, Florida to observe the school’s technology program. After the visit, the committee decided that Resurrection should begin major fund raising for school improvements. Fr. Val Sheedy gave permission to schedule another fundraiser in the Parish, and soon thereafter, The Cruise Ship Club event was born. In 1999, having visited all the major ports of call, the event’s name changed to "Rezzapallooza." "Rezzapallooza" now gives way to "A Dinner Auction Benefiting Resurrection Catholic School."
In 2000, the event was moved off-site, and this past year, our dinner auction came home to the grounds of our school! The event has been chaired each year by dedicated parents and made possible by the involvement of countless volunteers. Due to their efforts and the amazing support of our community, this event has raised over half a million dollars for Resurrection Catholic School! Each year, our dinner auction has a different theme – in 2009 it was "Festival de la Luna".
This years auction, "Rhinestone Roundup", will be held on November 13, 2010, again on the grounds of Resurrection Catholic Church and School, and will include silent and live auctions, exciting games of chance, live entertainment, and theme based food and drinks!
