Many people in Catholic schools are not aware that the cost to operate the school and provide a quality education to each child enrolled exceeds the tuition rate charged per child. This difference between tuition and the total expenses is often termed the tuition gap. For most schools, including ours, the gap is covered by the proceeds from various fundraisers during the year, endowment fund distributions, and Parish subsidies to the school. In addition, Church of the Resurrection also pays many school operating and maintenance expenses directly. Your contribution through tuition, Scrip purchases and fundraising is extremely important in helping us provide a quality Catholic education for your child.
At RCS, we make every effort to "do more with less," controlling costs and leveraging available resources. And we are so fortunate to have a pastor and parish who supports the mission of Catholic education. Father Charles has once again committed the parish’s support for every child attending our school – $900 per student! Still, after this support and your tuition, a gap remains. Raising mandatory tuition to match expenses would mean that many of our families would have to forego the benefits of a Catholic education. We humbly ask you to help us bridge this gap if you are able.
| RCS 2013-2014 | Amounts |
| Cost per student | $ 7,525 |
| Parish support per student | $ 900 |
| Cost after parish support | $ 6,625 |
| Base tuition (in-parish rate) | $ 5,395 |
| Tuition Gap per student for 2013-2014 | $ 1,230 |
If you are able to help bridge this gap – or any part of it, we would be so grateful. There are several ways to contribute:
• You can send a check to the school with your registration or separately.
• You can give online.
• You can roll your Bridge Builders gift into your monthly tuition payment through FACTS! On average, this will increase your monthly payment by approximately $100 per student.
