Homework
Homework is an extension of the learning process begun at school. It is a vital part of the curriculum. Its purpose is to promote independent study, provide extra practice, recognize individual differences and develop a sense of personal responsibility. The length of homework assignments depends on the initiative and ability of the student and the type of assignment.
Grading
| GRADES K | GRADES 1-2 | GRADES 3-8 |
| + = demonstrates mastery of skill | O = Outstanding | Percentages will be used for recording grades. |
| ✓= demonstrates good development of skill | G = Good | 90% average needed for BETA membership consideration. |
| - = demonstrates difficulty in learning skill | S = Satisfactory | 94% average needed for NJHS membership consideration. |
| x = not yet presented/assessed | N = Needs Improvement | 70% average required for Gr. 6-8 to participate in extra-curricular activities. |
| Minimum passing grade is 60%. |
